The Lore Olympus animated series is something that’s becoming a reality, with plans to debut later this year exclusively on Prime Video.
The source material spins classic Greek Hades and Persephone’s myths into a romance set in Olympus. The original story caught on like wildfire, surging with over 1.8 billion views.
Colony writer Julia Cooperman takes the showrunner role while David Madden, Sydney Bright, Aron Levitz, Lisa Henson, and Halle Stanford take executive producer roles.
There are still a lot of questions surrounding the Lore Olympus animated series including what its animation style will be, how closely it will follow the source material, when the series will start airing, who will be part of the cast, and more. What we do know, beyond the showrunner and executive producers is it will be exclusive to Prime Video, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Webtoon Productions, and The Jim Henson Company.
Frankly, we think this show deserves at least a stylized look that keeps true to the show, preferably 2D, but a polished 3D style could work, but it would have to be done right.
